airbag idiot light

Default airbag idiot light

has anyone ever had to take apart the steering console to get the airbag idiot light to turn off? i heard some strange noise when i was turning my steerng wheel counter clockwise after installing a new agr steering box. that's when the light came on. thanks!

You probably damaged the clock spring in the column. Does your horn and cruise still work?

If you can get the steering wheel off it's pretty easy.
They can be stubborn even with a puller.

i had the same problem, i replaced mine about 2 months ago. its real easy look it up in the manual in the merry christmas thread. the only aprt that sucks is that its a dealer only item retail about 230$ or something luckily i work for a dealer. but once u get it all taken apart its really easy. just borrow a puller from autozone.

i just replaced my clockspring and i only payed $160 australian for it from one of the importers. it was boxed in a mopar box aswell. i did it no problem and fixed my airbag light.

cool. i just looked at it. the pigtail connectors came loose, due to me turning the wheel past the stops. (oops!). made sure everything was reconnected and it is good now. thanks guys!
