Nothing particular, what transmission does it have? Not sure what they put in it, but if it is the 727 then that is a solid tranny. Motor is good of course, overall they are just solid trucks.

is that a truck or the SUV-sort of like a blazer/bronco thing ?
i've got a buddy with a 1st gen 85'ish truck. his 2wd is a pos and can't get out of its own way nor haul any kind of load w/o squatting. on the other hand its got a 318 and well over 200k, so its not all bad. i'd guess a 4wd would be fine. he could build up the springs with a little effort.

i've got another buddy with an early to mid 80's 4wd SUV looking thing with a 318. its a pretty good truck, goes about anywhere. tough. lots of steel, not much plastic. dash and stuff falling apart but that's to be expected.

as a mudding truck, i'd say its fine. just run the **** out of it and whenever something breaks replace it with something stonger and/or newer.

They are just like the old Jimmys and Blazers (the REAL jimmys with 305's and 350's, not those newer POS), both are extremely solid trucks.
