So I finally got my super 44 on today. It isn't as loud as I thought it would be but sounds good. I think I need some tips to make it sound the way I want. I also gutted the cat. Doesn't soundas lound as20DodgeNeon00's does. It has to be the tips. Just didn't think they would do that much more. I knew they were good but I didn't know that they were that good. The exhaust shop here told me 100 bucks for some magnaflow 18x3 1/2in tips ss. Anyone got some cheaper? Would there be difference with 22x4 to 18x3 1/2?

Also could my o2 sensor be bad without a cel going off? My mpg is pretty bad and didn't know if that could be it. Plus how much do they cost for our truck? I also figured with the gutted cat my cel would go off from that rear 02 sensore??

 

Tips wont change the loudness of it, only changes the slight tone at the end...I think what youre hearing is what you're going to get. 100 bucks sounds about right for magnaflow tips.. you could check summitracing. But if i was you i would get the tips anyways. They look great. What engine do you have??

The tips will definitely make it sound a lot better, imho. They really top off a nice exhaust system. The super 44's aren't the loudest in the world, so I would imagine you just heard all of these videos and just don't think yours is as loud as others, but I bet it is. Once you get used to it you'll probably agree that it was just because you were expecting it to be really loud. I'm sure it has a great tone, so you definitely need to get a vid/clip up for us to enjoy. Good luck with the tips if you decide to get them. I wouldn't say you necessarily have to pay high dollar for some Magnaflows; there are plenty of other nice ones out there as well, just look around.

 

Hey guys while were on this subject. Whats the diffrence in sound from a dumped exhaust to one that might finish out with tips? I have a single 40 series dumped, but i only have a V6 (5.9L on its way) it sounds nice dumped, just woundering when i put the 5.9 in if i should get it dumped or run out.

 

how your exhaust is now with no tail pipes will sound really loud with the 5.9 i would think. I like the look of tail pipes though.

 

You could get magnaflows for around 65 shipped on ebay. But, as blkbarretta says there are lots of nice tips out there. Also I just put on magnaflow ss tips less than 2 weeks ago and there is already a rust spot.

 

Why did flowmaster advertise them as the loudest muffler they have then? Im kind of confused. But lets see how loud it is with the soundclip Blknt18, im sure it sounds good.
