98 and 00 diffrent

ok my cousin and i have same exact truck, but his is a 98 and mine is 00. they both are a 5.9 and the are single cab andmine weights more than his.

Could be as simple as frame design changes.. I have a 2000 and I have a thicker gauge steel than the older ones.. I think its for more payload.

according to that site it's only a 100 pound difference.
that could easily be build options or a slight change in materials.
