Default 318 to 360

Hey. Im getting a 1999 5.2l 1500 from my grandfather and i waswondering if it ispossible to bore and stroke the 5.2lto a5.9l. From what i have readthey are the same block and use the same heads, intake, and tb.So if i was able to bore andstroke it i could just put those parts back on it. Has anyone ever done thisorknow someone who has? Also whatelsewould i have to swap out?Anyinput would be great thanks.

Even better, you can stroke a 318 out to a 390. They sell kits for it. That would be a better way to go in my opinion.

Does anyone know who makes a 360 stroker kit? or if im going to do it do you think i should just go to the 390? how much better is the performance of the 390 than the 360?

IF your dead set on a 360 your better off to buy an actual 360 or trade your 318 for one. Also i dont think you gonna notice that big of a gain from switching from a 318 to 360. you can make your 318 run like 360 with only a few mods. aimforsquirrels and Silver_Dodge have 318's and they seem to happy with them. I have a 318 and hate it because its bone stock and i think there's something wrong with it. Im gonna try and drive another dodge with a 318 and see how it runs, to see if its my truck that just sucks or that all stock 318's suck

Easier option:
Buy a 360 longblock from summit (1300 dollars) then put your intake, throttle bodyand heads on it...VIOLA a 360 and you didn't have to pay for machining.
Bore + stroke = broken parts and headaches. Plus you are 15, so just get the 360 longblock or a 360 from the junkyard. One really nice engine went from a junkyard here. I was getting parts from it and in 2 days someone took the 5.7.
Thats my opinion. Get the shortblock because everything else is interchangeable from the 318 to the 360.

So if i buy the short block and put the heads, intake, and tb on the new one everything will work properly? and do i have to get a new computer for it? where would i find that and how much would it cost me? also should i get a valve job while im at it? the engine only has about 70,000 miles on it.
