I don't have the cash for an air tank and air tools, but what is a good cordless impact wrench for teardowns? Do I need to get the snap-on one or is there another one that and of you guys have?

ive used the Dewalt ones, and they are great, i dont know how much the snapon stuf is, but your gonna be looking at 350-400 bones for a decent dewalt?

 

if your gonna spend that much, just go to wal mart and get all the stuff you need for air tools. i got all my tools for like 200 bucks and they work great.

 

as for cordless impact wrench at my shop we use mastercraft maximun impact wrench, id unno if u guys have canadian tire down there? probly not. anyway they work great for smaller bolts n what not, they cannot pull wheels off like they say tho lol

 

i use snap on cordless 18 volt to take lug nuts off , very nice tool but $$$$$ 519.00

 

i say spend the money and get the snap on, i have the 3/8 now and cant wait to get the 1/2 they are well worth the money.

 

Can a 3/8 use the tool to get a fan clutch off?

 

a 3/8 cordless ??? No. need a fan clutch tool to take the fan clutch off.. i mite be missing something here....

 

I believe it was Indyram that said he couldn't get his fan clutch off without using an impact wrench and the fan clutch tool. Or something to that effect. I figure it was just a BIG socket.

YOu run into any problems getting your fan off? Because, for now, I need to replace my caved in fan shroud with a junkyard replacement.

it was not easy getting mine off.. just rember the belt runs clock wise so you gotta turn the big nut to the left and eat your wheaties.....
