Default Underdrive pulley pros/cons

I deff want to get a crank pulley, but what are your thoughts on water pump and alt? I don't know when my alt was replaced last, and cheap high amp ones can be had on ebay...or even autozone. I would get a higher amp alternator if i got the amp pulley.

As for the water pump. Some people say that it hinders heating because it lowers the flow of coolant. Some say that underdriving the water pump HELPS cooling because it gives more time for thecooolant to be in the radiator, thus allowing it to dissapate more heat.

Anyone else have thoughts? Or are pulleys a waste for the price vs performance gain.I am asking because I haven't seen anyone with pulleys in their sig. But camaro and mustang guys always have at least a crank pulley.

Thanks

i had pulleys on my truck for a while and i had nothing but good luck with them i had more power, better mpg the only downfall i had was i needed a new water pump that didnt have a pulley attached and then i had to go to lowes and get some bolts to bolt it together but al in all it paid for itself...and if your thinking of getting pulleys let me know i still have my set and will sell them to you for a good price

Had the crank pulley on my 99. Liked it. The biggest thing was buying the new belt for 40 bucks. The flow and charge rates are only effected at idle but once you reach 1200 rpm you are at full capacity. This is if you only use a crank pulley, so save the money and dont get the complete set. Who just sits and idles anyway?

If you decide to get the higher amp alt, if it puts out over 120 amp (i think the replacement is 130)then your gonna have to replace the fuse in the black box next to the bat.
