She sqealed on me....
Hey guys, I've gotta quick question for ya: 'Bout a week ago I replaced my alternator b/c I thought is was sqealing, and it's still doin it. The guy a the part store said somethin about the belt tensioner. What to do? I hate that I wasted $140 on a part I didn't need but oh well....
a good pig will do that...oh sorry, that's not what your were talking about..
find a short piece of pipe about 2 foot long. being VERY VERY careful where you stick it, use it like a stethoscope and put one end on the power steering pump and put your ear against the other end. being careful, check the alternator, tensioner, idler. i don't know if you can get it around the wp or not w/o getting killed. you should be able to identifier the squealer.

Over time I have had my idler pulley, belt tensioner, and power steering pump all squeal like stuck hogs. I bought a $15 automotive stethoscope and use it religiously to locate noises.
