00' 5.9L Idle question/problem
My truck idles at around 600 RPM and will idle a little sparatically, jump up and down about 25-50 RPM randomly at idle. I had the idea that it might be spark plugs so I reaplced them awhile ago along with the wires, cap and rotor. I used bosh platnum plugs and autolite wires(I think but definately wasnt the cheap ones). but after I did this it didnt fix the problem. I ran premium through the engine one time and added some fuel system cleaner(lucas) to the tank and still idled similar to before. Anyone have any suggestions to what I can do to make the truck idle smoothly. Champion plugs? different wires? hit it with a hammer till it does what I want it to do?
Just for extra info it is an 2000 ram 4x4 with 57500 miles on it. all of this was going on before and after a synthetic oil swap in the whole powertrain and tune up. Thanks for the help.
