This morning i started my truck from my house with my remote starter and let run 15 mins and then get ready to head off for the day and ny the way it was 10 below zero this morning anyway i get goin down the highway and at about 62mph my usual speed its runnin at 3100 rpms and wouldnt shift out of 3rd gear and i was told when its that cold dodges do that for a safety reason to get it warmed up or somethin but with my 30 minute commute i have it never warmed up the tranny so is this normal and what i was told true or what happened???

I know its more of a pain for someone with remote start, but I always let it warm up in Neutral. Gets the tranny gears going, lets the tranny warm up more than when its just in Park.

My tranny will do that when I don't let the pickup warm up enough (when its below zero).

Just make sure that parking brake is engaged while its in Neutral. Never know what bone head will coming flying by, bump your vehicle, and send it into the side of your house otherwise.

BTW, not to steal the thread, but I see you have the Bridgestone Revos. I've been eyeing them really close for when my Hercules are worn out (they came with the pickup). What do you think of them?

Well i just didnt no if that was normal of the truck to do that but i guess so. Ahh yes my tires they are less than 1 month old and i love them. they are not noisy at all, ride good as for weather conditions they are awesome in snow and rainy/wet conditions but i have not had them in mud and plan to keep it that way if you have any other questions just ley me know.

I'm not sure if its a "safety reason" so much as its just a sticky valve or something in the tranny that doesn't like to work when its really cold.

How did the Flowmaster 40 series true duals work out for you? What pipe size you using? After listening to several clips, I'm thinking I might go with the Flowmasters over a Magnaflow like I was originally planning. I might just emulate ya a bit if you don't mind.

HAHAHA ok thats fine!! well it was the very first thing i did to my truck and it sounds great but for some reason my computer wont let me put pics or sound clips of my truck up here so that pissed me off anyway i went 2.5" inch pipe, came right from the manifold with 2 seperate pipes took out the cats (they were bad anyway) welded in o2 bunges and put o2 sensorsback in and runnin back into 2 flowmaster 40 series delta mufflers and on back and comin out at 45 degree angles behind the rear tires and then welded on slant cut stainless steel tips rolled edge i think there like 20 something inches long i dont remember and in the end it all sounds awesome. nice deep tone. what else do you want to know??

the pcm will not let the tranny to shift into overdrive untill the trany fluid reaches a certain temp. this is done to protect the OD unit, since these tranys have poor fluid flow to the OD even in warm weather.
