Miloni: I went with neither Mopar or K&N for a couple of reasons. The Mopar CAI is a relabeled K&N with a blue filter (instead of red), a greatly shortened warranty, and a hiked up price. The K&N is not bad, but I've heard the Volant is better due to the fact that it pulls cold air from outside the engine bay (by using the stock fender hole on the passenger side). If you are referring to the open element Mopar 14x3 unit rather than the Mopar CAI, thats good too. I just prefer the CAI units. We'll see if time changes my mind or not.

98DodgeRam1500: Whenever I visited your link, it always gave me a picture and description, but above and to the right it stated "Sorry no products were found for your 2001 Dodge Ram Pickup." For whatever reason, it says that the clearance Volant is for 1994-2000 Dodge Rams only. They have a separate unit just for 2001s. I confirmed this at my www.performancecenter.com site, the part number for the 2001 Volant intake is different than the 2000 one.

For 2001, the P/N is 16959
For 1994-2000, it is 16859

Not sure what they changed in the 2001 model year, but they did something so that Volant had to make at least a slightly different intake for it.

But thank you anyway for trying to get it to me cheaper. [sm=thanx.gif]

Hmmm well, good luck with it, let me know how you like it.
I guess it pays a little to have a 98.

Yes, I too am very anxtious to see the results from the Volant. I don't know anyone who runs a volant on our rams. Im also intertested in how the scoop funcitons as well, or if its even worth it. But congrats on the purchase, can't wait to get one too.
