Default Very annoying sound

I have a very annoying sound in my truck, it sounds exaclty like a turbo diesel and seems to have lost power. I checked the vaccum lines with starting fluid and got nothing. It also does it when its only in gear(seems to be loudest when accelerating), it will alsonot whistle in park or neutral, does anybody have any ideas what it could be?

I sprayed down all of the intake gasket stuff and also replaced the tb gasket, got no results with any of that. Im stumped because it only does it in drive or reverse.

Do you have the stock intake, FIPK, or round filter.

yes its stock intake and one other thing is the heat controls switch to the defrost vents when you get on the gas and i can get no floor heat at all. I dont know if this is one issue or two seperate ones?

the heat/def control problem is a sign of a vacuum problem. it could be the check valve in the engine bay, or its more likely a vac leak, which is also creating the whistling sound. try plugging the big hose that comes off the manifold that provides vac to everything and see if it stops the sound. then add them back one hose at a time, or feel/test them one hose at a time. i've never had any luck with the carb cleaner, starting fluid thing... if nothing turns up easy, for testing lines there is a inexpensive hand held vac pump for about $15-20.
