8th cylinder misfire CEL flashing
Well I went to the shop and they said my cat was fine, I plugged the code reader back in and now I'm getting no 2 cyl misfire no 8 cyl misfire and multiple cyl misfire... Changed plugs... turns out the guy who owned the truck before me had a few different brand plugs in there...regardless this didn't fix the problem. still flashing still misfiring, but it is better. I also found some wetness on the no 8 plug when I pulled it out as well as a little bit of debris on the threading which leads me to believe I somehow managed to get some debris in the cylinder. I'm not sure if rerouting per the TSB would help me or not. I think I'll try anyway, I'm thinking wires could be touching due to the install of my round filter, I'm also thinking about trying to spray a little compressed air in the no 8 cyl to see if there is in fact debris in there, although I would think that any debris would be incinerated by now... any other suggestions?
Well I figured it out, Thought I'd let you all know... Turns out in my blundering stupidity I didn't realize thatwhile putting on my air filter I knocked a plug wire out of its clip and up against the header, This of course melted the wire and grounded it. A zip tie fixed my problem... I'm gonna buy new wires here soon. Thanks for all of your help
