Default removing body lift

I bought a 97 ram a few months back. It has a 3 inch body lift and a front coil spacer. I wanna bring it back down a little lower, i think im gonna leave the spacer in and put a lift block in the back, but i wanna get rid of the body lift. I have never done a body lift before, can i just remove the bolt and pull the 3 inch spacer out one by one all around the truck? I know that with body lifts, some people do a bumper modification to raise the bumper, do i have to change anything with that or can i just pull the body lift off and go? Thanks in advance.

i dont know why you want to remove a body lift when its already on there.. but its your truck so whatever. about your bumper- body lifts dont raise your bumper themselves but they make a bumper raising kit. so if your bumper sits as high as the bottom of your tailgate now then yes you'll have to take out those bumper brackets.

body lifts also extend other pieces...when i put mine on, we added links to both shifters (gear shift and four wheel drive)...also we relocated parkin brake lines so they wouldnt be stretched and engaged all the time so if it was done right and u want to use your parkin break again look for this line to have slack in it when ya pull the blocks out...we also installed brackets for the fan shroud...and some kits have extensions for steerin too which is somethin else u will have to check for...imo, id leave it up there unless u just HAVE to bring it down..

I wouldn't take reccomend taking it off. It makes the engine bay alot more accessible as well as making room to clear tires.

If you take it off you'll need to have all the stock bolts. Everything that's in there now came with the lift and is 3" longer than what you need. There's also extensions on the steering, both shifters, and the gas tank.

oh yah and check the line for ur gas tank to whereu still the nozzle in...more than likely there will be an extension in it too...just loosen the screws around it so it will freelyslide up when ur body moves back down to the frame...

well the main reason i wanted to take it off is to put smaller tires, for better gas mileage. but it seems like a lot of work. thanks for the advice
