Default Cold Air Intake Question

Ok so Im looking on getting a cold air intake for my 2000 Ram with the 5.9L engine in it. Ive been looking primarly at the ones avalible on www.summitracing.com, and am very interest in the Pacesetter Performance Cold Airintake for trucks and SUV's viewable at this link due to its brand name and great low price http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1∂=PSM%2D16%2D2520&amp ;N=700+4294925239+4294813803+4294849633+4294908110 +4294907804+4294924666+4294840106+115&autoview =sku
is this a wise choice in a cold airintakes? Will it install easy and work properly? Any other sujestions?

Do a search on cold air intakes.
Also go to styling trucks web site. I have a link floating around here somewhere for $204 for a volant.
Someone was getting one soon for their 2001.
I'd wait to find out the results.

sorry I dont have links for you, just a tad tired and lazy right now.

Im running the mopar proformance air cleaner. Its a 13" round filter. Im very happy with the proformance and it as only 75 bucks. Do a search for "fipk no more" and youll find a long thread about it.

I am getting the Volant, and I'll let ya know how it is if you want to wait. It is supposed to arrive on Tuesday, but FedEx is delivering it; they sometimes put a little speed on and get stuff to me a day ahead of the scheduled delivery date.

Otherwise, the 14x3 is good too. Take a look at the other intake related threads, look at the pictures, and decide which you want. Almost any aftermarket intake, CAI or open element, is better than the stock box.

I did the 14x3 and it worked great during the winter, but the summer created too much heat saturation. I opted for the cheap eBay intake and then got myself a better quality filter for the end. Ended up costing me about $95 after everything, IIRC.

I looked at these, too, but after spending $50 for a K&N drop-in, I really don't want to just turn itinto a waste of money by getting an intake. Ah, hind-sight...always 20/20...

that would be fine in that price range but what are your goals.. i am putting a mopar intake in my truck but they can be really pricey like up in the 400's, but if you dont want to break the bank that one on the link should work fine in your ram
