Default O/D transmission sticking gears...

1995 D-2500 SLT Laramie 360cid w/ 4-speed O/d.

Tends to stick in gear when accelerating, not shifting when it should.
Sometimes shifts normal, sometimes letting off the gas a little will get it to shift, other times will not shift on its own. Fluid and filter just got changed, it started shortly before this and has not improved.

Any ideas?

Ok, thanks for the answers guys, I was thinking along those same lines and after reading up on the adjustment I think I'll try that first but if that doesn't work I went ahead and set up an appointment with a transmission shop, might cost me 1-200 but it's just not something I like fooling with.

Unfortunately it sounds like the seals on the clutch packs are worn out and allowing too much leakage.

as a short term fix you could try adding two bottles of
Lubegard 'red bottle' atf additive

http://www.lubegard.com/automotive/trans_atf.html

You could also try slightly increasing the line pressure psi
but the 46RH trans really ought to be rebuilt before more serious damage
occurs to the planetary gearsets...which will run up the eventual bill.

The 1995 Ram 'Field Service Manual' or FSM
has a good table for troubleshooting 46 auto trans problems
and a similar table is partially found in the Chilton manual.
