Under what terms do you consider not finishing it effectively? Apparently everybody opposed to the war or the way it's being conducted acts as if it was supposed to end as quick as it started. None of us are in a position to question how long this war should be being fought. Not only is it a war, but it's a very new style of war that the U.S is not fully equiped to fight it. They are dealing with groups of terrorists spotted randomly across the middle east. I cannot even imagine how difficult it must be to create a focal point where to even counterattack these people. The only way to even attempt to do this, is to completely set up shop in the middle east. The U.S has done a great job in putting these bastards *****' in a vice. I don't think there is any mistake why our own homeland has not been attacked since September 11, 2001. Perhaps all the winy liberals need another rude awakening to further emphasize that the United States was attacked. Not just attacked, but our own homeland was viciously infiltrated using our very own airlines, a very scary thought. I do think it is ok to have questions about decisions this President makes, however I stand against anybody that questions the idea of being in the middle east, it's just illogical. The U/S was physically attacked, and we struck back. We are dealing with the problem. Sure, maybe if we were being threatened, then negotiations are feisable, but we don't have time as a nation to be sitting on our asses trying to sugar coat to the world what we need to do to save our country and all that we believe in. People need to realize that EVERYONE in this world outside of the countey despise us, because we are Number One. Just look back in history, every great civilization has always been attacked. I love it when people say, "Oh George Bush makes the world hate us!". I just laugh. What kind of loser is that out of reality that would think people actually respect and love us. Until we no longer hold the rights of having the greatest military, the greatest road systems, the greatest economy, and the great laws and people, then we will be forever attacked, it's just the way it is. We need to defend our freedom, and defend our standings in the world. How good would it look if we were attacked 9/11, and we did nothing about it. Thank God we had a republican in office. I'm not saying Bush Jr. is the greatest president, nor the brightest guy, but golly, he at least knows how to make the right decision to protect america, popular decision or not. Hope my point is made clear. YOu don't have to be a republican to understand what I just said, you have to be a true american with realistic insight to know what the U/S is doing now may not be the most favorable, but it is what we needs to be done in a time where the U/S and what it believes in, is getting its first true attack at being number one, period.

As a former, and soon to be again, soldier, i would just like to say that anyone who makes a decision before they hear the question is an idiot. i consider myself neither a liberal nor a conservative, and im not a republican or a democrat.
"Thank God we had a republican in office" who's to say what a democrat or someone else would have done? sounds like someone else's canned words to me...
"The U/S was physically attacked, and we struck back."Romanticism of the situation aside, too many people forget that while iraq was an up and coming threat to us, iraq did not attack us.
what's done is done, but id just like to say that i personally think the time for over-analyzing things is over, and we should focus on where we go from here. 2009 will be the end of one road and the start of a new. not because of the war, but as a whole, george bush sucked as a president. saying you do not agree with the president doesn't make you a hippie, and saying you agree with the presidentCERTAINLY DOES NOT MAKE YOU A PATRIOT. too many peoplespeak before they think.
that said, we should do our part this year at election time and VOTE, and stop beating the dead horse known as george bush's presidency.
Nobody thinks supporting bush means your patriotic. Supporing your president should be something that all americans should do, whether you like them or not. I know this president hasn't been the greatest, but he was handed one of the ****tiest attacks American has ever had to deal with. Pearl Harbor was one thing, but this stepped it up even more. Our own homeland, was attacked. Our biggest city, was attacked. So we all have to do respect, all though Bush Jr. isn't the smartest guy, nor that great of a president, he has had to deal with one of the biggest crisis America has ever had to deal with. And although 2009 will bring a new president, we still have a very big task at hand. Im nervous about somebody taking the office over that isn't prepared to execute the job in the middle east. Like I said before, this is a very new kind of war. As you can see, the U/S has tried to make it war on their turf, because that's what we are used to doing and accelling at it. If we let the war reach our homeland, you can see what it does to us. As much as we'd like to move on so quickly, you cannot ignore what has happened and what is happening right now. As to me saying thank god there was a republican in office, yeah, I can stand by that. Look at what Obama and Clinton are doing right now, playing the card that this war is a bad war. Obama didn't vote for the war, and Clinton is denying she agreed with the war, great, shows some real compassion. At least republicans can still stand by their decision, and are excuting this war as best as possible. This war sucks, yes, but so did 9/11. Im glad our leaders took responsibilty and are doing whatever they can to protect the U/S and what we stand for. All democrats want to do is save their rear end, they want to roll with the tides and just say whatever makes them look good at the time. Clinton believed in the war, you know why, becuse she was scared, like all of us were. And she still agreees with the war, she just wouldn't ever say that because she will loose votes. The war isn't popular right now, but I wonder how popular it would be had we not taken action. We tried to play the card of being nice and negotiating prior to 9/11, and look what happened, we got planes run into the heart of NYC. Talk time is over, and I am glad we are in there establishing the powerful presence of the U.S. Republican, Democrat, or Independant, whatever you are, it isn't a matter of liking bush or what party you support. It is a matter of protecting your rights and our lifes as american citizens. Because on 9/11, they showed a pretty big damn message on how many people feel about us..

PS: if you are feeling THAT patriotic, i'd urge you to visit your nearest recruiting office.
I dont think im overgeneralizing. My message is clear, and relatively unbiased. The only thing I am bias about, is making sure we dont get ****ed over agian like 9.11. Also, if I am ever called to war, I am ready to go.

Theres nothing I have said that should get a response like that. I never said I wouldnt be scared. If you actually read what I wrote before, I said all of us were scared, and if anybody denies it, they are full of ****. Get where I stand from before you start pouncing on what I am saying.

we should really just take this thread from politics back to trucks.

Indy- Any news of another Indy for ya? Can't wait to see that motor sittin between some more blue fenderwells! Maybe this is some kind of sign that you need to build it bigger, faster and stronger! (Boost + Tubbed + 6 speed
) Good Luck with the truck, and with following up with the lawyers!
PA...all i can say is blah blah blah. stop being a dink all the time. you dont have to agree with my points, but they are far from out of bounds. i can take heat, but i dont take criticism that doesnt make sense. as an american, i have the right to voice my opinion even if im not in the war. i think it is just lame that anyone threw what i said as saying i wouldnt serve. u can be passionate about the war and not fight in it. this all came about when i think it was sinister who said something along the lines that this war was not being executed right. i just hate when ppl say that. it doesnt make sense. there is no right way to execute this war, it's a new kind of war we are fighting in, so i get really irritated when ppl bitch about how long we are there, as if they were promised it was supposed to be in and out. if our presence wasnt in the middle east right now, who knows what would be going on right now. being there also makes us that much closer to north korea and iran. there is no mistake that our presence is there for more than one reason, it's for tons of reasons (israel, saudi arabia, afghanistan, iraq, iran, north korea, russia, china). You name it. Many of these countries want us...now that is a scary thought. But yeah I didnt mean to stretch this into a truck forum, but i dont think there is anything wrong with a little bit of politics. its healthy.
