intake installation

Default intake installation

hey guys, sooo im new here, i just bought myself a '98 ram1500 4x4. loving every minute of it. The only thing is, is that i want to put a custom intake on it, but im not really sure how the regular CAI goes on. does anyone have a picture of their intake and how it is on there? any help would be awesome.

Depends on what CAI you want. There are several different kinds out there: K&N, Volant, AEM, Pacesetter, etc. And they all fit in a little differently. Some use the stock air hole, some don't, for example.

And then there is the open element intake that is cheaper, and almost as easy to do. Its a great deal of personal preference. Do a forum search, using the link at the top of the page, to see all the threads where CAIs are discussed.

I ordered a Volant yesterday, and will have pictures up after its installed (should be around the 5th or 6th of February).
