Default Ignition problems

I have a 98 1500 2 wheel drive quadcab. i know im getting fuel but no spark. i replaced the spark plugs, wire, cap and rotor last summer and it has ran fine till the other mornin. i pulled off the distributor cap and noticed that it wasnt seated down right. cleaned the cap and rotor replaced but still the same. couldnt check the plugs due to the weather. stumped on this.

Could be the ignition coil...or the actual distributor (not cap). I'm not really sure...

It's never worth replacing something if nothing's wrong with it... Take it to Autozone or somewhere that runs diagnostics for free...see if it throws any codes.

a coil is not too expensive, about $40. you should be able to test the coil using a volt meter and an ohm meter. there should be a test procedure in the haynes manual and/or the service manual in the merry christmas thread. test for 12 volts coming in. then disconnect everything and ohm out the windings.

uhm.. kinda hard to take it to az to test codes when it wont run.
