Default Gas mileage

Whats the typical gas mileage for a '98 1500 quad cab 2WD? Much different than a 4WD?

My 95 ext. cab gas gotten as high as 18. My yearly average in 16.4. I drive 55 mostly highway and have 265's on it. My exhaust is stock and 13 years old. No tonneau cover. I think the 4x4's get 10-14 tops.

I got a 1500 4x4 and I get about 13.5-16 mpg. Regular cab short bed though.

Although it does have 3.55 gears on 33" tires, so there is potentially room for improvment. But I keep my truck tuned up alot more than most.

If they have the same tires
there seems to be about 1 MPG difference between
4x4 and 2wd Rams with the same engine and trans.

But since many 4x4 have hard to roll wide 'mudder' style tread fitted
the difference can grow to as much as 3 MPG
