From the cat back with a single in dual out Flowmaster 40 then two stainless steel tips I paid $350. Mine exits out the side behind each rear tire.

I didn't change the cat though and this was the cheapest shop around. The first time I called around most were the same prices the second time all but this one wanted a lot more.

From the cat back with a single in dual out Flowmaster 40 and no tips I paid $200. Mine exits out the back on each side of the hitch. Bought it off ebay and installed it myself.

I would say expect about $350-$400 from most shops. If you get lucky and find a kit on Ebay or somewhere, you could pay around $200 or $250. Keep in mind, though, most of the more inexpensive kits are made of aluminized steel, not stainless steel. If you get it done at a shop, you'll get stainless...better product=more expensive. Stay away from the custom made kits offered by Flowmaster, Magnaflow, etc. They usually run around $500-$600 for stainless, and you could get the same thing made at a dealer for a couple hundred less.

I think you are much better off buying your own muffler, tips, and cat from summitracing.com. Then, go to different exhaust shops and get quotes to have the parts installed and how you want it etc. If you buy the parts yourself, you can probably get a shop to put in for $225 if they are cool. My brother got lucky and found a guy who put his true dual in for $175. He did a great job. Most guys don't use stainless steel though unless you pay the big bucks. Most piping is still going to be aluminzed.. But just ask around a lot with what your looking at for quotes, and just go with the best price. Specific muffler your lookng for?

i want it to exit behind each tire. and im not sure exactly what i want for a muffler. i want a real nice rumble but not obnoxiouse. i want a good quality rumble i dont want it to be rediculously loud but i want people to hear it too. and i considered buying my own muffler and cat and then seeing if i could have meineke install it. i went to r&d exhaust and they quoted me $300 for my ford but they quoted me $500 for my dodge?. there is another one exhaust that i heard is alot cheaper and better but i havent made it there to ask them. a guy i work with had his done at meineke for $300 or so and it sounded nice. any recomendations for a muffler

I like the 40 series I have. I really like the 50 series I had before. You could barely hear it inside with the windows up it wasn't loud at all. With the windows down you could hear it but it wasn't too loud. Outside it had a mean sounding tone to it and was pretty loud. Both the exhaust guy and I thought it was a 40 series so he put a 40 series on when he redid it and its a fair amount louder. You can hear it inside with the windows up but it isn't too bad you can just constantly hear it. With the windows down you can really hear it growl. It's sometimes a little loud when I have others in there I wish it was quieter but it isn't too bad and other times I love it. Sometimes I would wish the 50 was a little louder and sometimes it was perfect. This fills in for when I wanted the 50 louder.

I've heard lots of people weren't happy with the 50 series so switched to the 40.

Now I don't know about the Super 44 I've only heard videos but it seems decent but then again I can't imagine the tone of the 40 series getting much better.

Please stay away from meineke. They are such fricken scumbags. Go to a shop that actually puts real exhaust systems in, and not hackjob stock replacement crap. They might be cheap, but my god, there welds always look like amateur crap, it's sad.
