From what I understand, the 5.2 just doesn't have the cubes to cut them down that much. They say you'll lose low end. Try it and let us know.

Got an interesting update for you all. I'm now getting 12 mpg highway, 10-11 city. Might not sound great to some, but that's ok with me (given the mods I have). Here's the interesting part. Last time I got that kind of mileage was before my plenum went bad, right after I installed the B&G (was getting 14 highway, 12 city before the B&G). The kicker is that I was running 33" tires with my 4.10's at that time. Now i'm running 35's, and getting the same mpg. You would expect a mpg decline when moving up from 33's to 35's. This tells me that since the intake mod is the only thing that has changed since back when i was getting that mpg with 33's, the the intake mod has resulted in an overall increase in mpg.

glad to hear that. I just put mine in. I have been taking my sweet time with this. I stopped to paint it black. Then spent a while doing other things. I'm about to head back in there and put all the accesories and fan back on. Hope to have it on the road in a day or two.

I took lots of pics and will post them, I just wanted to finish up first.

Thanks for the DIY and the updates Silver, I check them daily and it really has helped alot to have this thread.

^^ That was harsh. Indy and i are part of the "Dodge Forum Fire Department" and comments like that will incurr the same Karma as we got.

But seriously. I am sure that silver's mod is better than how it was before.

Thanks for the write-up guys, especially Silver for all the helpful info! I do have a spare intake that I will be working on soon, I just had to do someresearch on how much of the runners I will cut off. I have also seen write up on other forums, but this one is by far the best!

Once I finish modifying my intake, I too will post pics.

thanks again!

Greg

i dunno what you used to get a clean cut... i tired a dremel with cut off wheels. After several broke wheels, i broke out my 4.5" angle grinder and went to town... made a big mess haha.

I wont know if it made a difference on my 360, bought the truck with a blown motor and while it was a part i figured id give it a shot.

Almost done, got them trimmed down, now just need to clean them up.

I used some aluminum cutting bits hooked to a drill to smooth out the cuts. Worked great. In post #2, there is a picture of it attached to the end of my drill. Also used a really stiff brass wheel on a drill too (last picture in post # 4). It removes the burrs very nicely.

I used a rotozip with a cutoff wheel from sears, worked great. once you get the hang of it, you will break fewer cutoff wheels.

I used the dremel buffing/sanding *****, they came in 120 & 220 grit and worked perfect. plan on buying a bunch though as they dont last long.
