Default Tuning a 390 stroker in 95 1500?? PLEASE HELP

Im just about to rebuild my 318 using an assortment of trick goodies and i am unsure of how to get a new tune in it. I know the 95 ECM's are unprogramable but is there a piggyback Fuel/Spark controller available to tune it? Is there a particular aftermarket ECM i can use?

Im open to all suggestions here guys and im an Aussie so knowledge on late mopar gear out here is a non event!

Please help!!

I ran into the same issue when I started planing out my build for my '94. I spent a lot of time talking to the guys at Hughes, KRC, and Southeast performance. They all told me the same thing.... about the only option is going with a stand alone fuel management system such as the Accel DFI. But depending on how wild you're going with your build, a Mopar Performance PCM will work fine. But it all depends on what direction you're going with the build and how much money you want to spend. The $4K you'd spend on a DFI setup is a little much to spend on daily driver IMHO.... Hope that helps. If you have any other questions shoot me an email.

Yer i dont want to spend heaps. I have spent enough on the bits for it lol.

I am thinking of using a KALMAKER ECM which is a reprogramable Delco unit that was used in pre 94 GM cars. I already have 1 and have tuned other High performance engines with it but its not to user friendly.

Another question....is the speedo ran off a signal from the ECM on a '95 RAM?

thanks

Nope, speedo is mechanical until 98, I believe. Run from a ring at the rear diff and a set-up in your t-case (transmission on 2WD).

I really dont think that you need a standalone ecu...those are really expensive. I would try jet performance. They will custom make eprom chips for you for your particular application. I am considering going with them when I build my 390 stroker for my 93 ram.
