Anybody went 16" to 15"?
Has anyone changed out their 16" rims for 15"? If so, what do you think about the switch?
The thing I am looking at is if I stick with 16" rims, the tires will be way more expensive.
The 285/75R16 calculates to 32.8x11.2 and run at $190/ea for BFG AT's (from Discount Tire)
The 32x11.5R15, which is pretty close in size, runs $144/ea.
That's a difference of $184![sm=confused06.gif]Seems like a no-brainer, but what are your thoughts?

2001 rams have a dual piston caliper, so 15" rims are not going to clear in the front axel without you grinding down the caliper a little bit. If you don't know what you're doing you can really **** things up.
Second thing you should look at is that most tires (of same size, same brand) for a 15" rim will be 6 ply, where as their 16" relatives will be 8 or 10 ply, which is something you should keep in mind if you haul things. That's why I do not see myself going down to 15"
On the other hand when you're offroad it gives you a little more sidewall to flatten out.

well the issue i see is sure you'll save $184 bucks on your tires, but then you gotta spend the money for new wheels which will definitely cost you more than the 184 you'd save on the tires
