Kill it. Slice along the belly from... oh, THAT cat, lol jk.
What I did was cut the pipe behind the cat, and pushed it out of the way. Then, I took a piece of like 2.5" galvi pipe, about 4' long, and stuck it straight in there, and hammered it all the way through. Then you just use a smaller piece of pipe or something, and just ram it in there and all around, until all the crap is loose, and then start the truck and blow it all out. You're gonna wanna get a good look inside it with a mag-lite or whatever, as there will be chunks left inside you need to clean out. I used a long pair of needle-nose pliers, that were like, a foot long, and a small piece (.5") galvi to break the other chunks up and pull them out. Then you get a coupler and two exhaust clamps, slide it over the existing pipe all the way, move the pipe back, slide he coupler up, and clamp it. Good luck. I noticed better mileage and maybe a little moer throttle response when I actually had exhaust...

You definetly want to have a 2.5 pipe going straight through the cat like silver did so you are essentially "straight piping" the exhaust. The catalytic converter is purley cosmetic this way, and exists only to make it look like you have a cat on your truck. This is the ONLY way to do it right. If you just hollow out the converter you're creating a bottleneck in your exhaust.
