Default Cost of new exhaust . . .

I have a 1995 1500 4X4 with an 8' bed. Started it up the other day and had a hole in the muffler. Looks like the whole system is rusted.

Any ideas an how much to replace?

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Mine is a shortbed and I had from the cat back replaced. It was a si/do Flowmaster 4 series with dual pipes running from there out each side behind the rear wheel. I had stainless steel tips put on each pipe and it cost $350. Other shops were around that price when I called a year or so ago. When I got it done which was probably 6 months ago now he was the only one that was that price still. Others had gone up $50 or so it seems like.

He did great work and I didn't expect him to change the pipe from the cat to the muffler but he said it was getting a little surface rust so he figured he minus well do it all while he was under there instead of just the muffler back. He still charged me the same price and didn't charge me any extra. I was pretty happy with him.

Cost is all based on where you live, what parts and pieces you need installed, and how much your local shop charges for parts and labor. You're better off making some telephone calls in your local area than tossing out this question in the InterWeb Thingy where people from all over the world are likely to post an answer.

Sorry about that lastrights! Another troll went into a good thread to just pinpoint ME, sorry bro!! For the exhaust, I will break it down for ya! I bought all of the pieces myself. I paid $65 including shipping for the Flowmaster Super 44 muffler in a 3"in/2.5" dual out from 21stcenturyexhaust.com. I bought the universal magnaflow catalytic converter in a 3" in/out size from summitracing.com for $88 including shipping. And then I bought both magnaflow tips (sad flowmaster doesn't make big tips) from summitacing.com for $104 including shipping in a 4"x22" size.

Parts=$257 (may vary depenidng what tips you decide to go with)

Then I had an exhaust shop install the system the way I wanted it for $250. So it was a little more expensive than I wanted to, but it was worth it. Everything is welded perfectly, and it's very clean, plus loud. About 2 months after I had it installed, I went on ahead and had my cat gutted. So think about that before you go and buy a cat. If you plan to get your cat gutted, don't make the mistake of buying a new catalytic converter if you have that urge to gut it[8D]. Let us know what you decide to do. And again, sorry about your thread!!
