#2!!!! pick #2... unless your building a drag truck, this head is the best replacement for the factory heads IMO...

Two questions first.

#1. Why are you replacing the heads?
#2 What is your objective?

steve05ram360 thanks for the input i think that might be the way ill go.

IndyRamMan I bought the truck with a seized motor so i got a new block with all new parts,so i took the heads down to get redone, and they found out both heads are cracked no water will go through em but i dont wanna waste money on them just to wait for them to crack more. My objective is to just get the truck running right now,i wanna put a cam in it,probably roller rockers, and some other stuff the motor has been bored 20 over.i know the edelbrocks are the best but i dont really wanna spend that much on heads if i dont have to.

How much do the Edlebrocks run? Are they even more than the last set? I'd probably say R/T heads or Edlebroke ones but I have no idea what either cost.

gotcha. Unfortunately, unless you go with stock replacement, bare heads are all going to run you about the same price. ~$400. If it were my truck Id look into the 2.02 r/ts and get them fully ported. But thats just my little nutty self.

Hmmm... Fully ported, huh? Yeah! That seems like the way to go.

But if the subject is now focued on heads, let's focus upon Mopar Magnum R/T heads for a moment. I can find a brand new pair for roughly $950.00 but those are bare cast. What I'm wondering is if you can swap the internals from regular stock Magnum heads into the R/T heads so long as the valve sizes are the same and everything related to the valve train was still in good shape? Could there be anything to worry about or would everything just interchange like Legos?

The reason I ask is because I was considering getting a pair of Magnum R/T heads which I would use with my stock valve train components while I have my original Magnum heads worked on until they are ported to at least stage 3 to hook up later. Reason being for doing this as opposed to porting the R/T heads is because if anything goes wrong with my factory heads after they go under the knife, I'd still have a great set of heads that wouldn't have a problem for years just like my factory heads would if they are not cut up like some blonde out of hollywood.

hometheaterman the edelbrocks run 1400 for the pair,i havent done much reasearch on the r/t heads so im not sure what i can get em for.

IndyRamMan do you know where i would be able to pick up a set of the r/t's for a decent price?

Slomojo01 i have no clue if the parts would change over but i would like to know aswell.

I paid $1250 for my r/t's... back before the HD's were available. If I were to do it again, i'd get the HD's.
