Quick Stereo Question.
Ok, finally got around to working on my factroy Infiniti stereo system. Replaced the head unit without issue, but now I'm kicking around swapping speakers. I have a small 4 channel amp that I'll probably put in come spring, but wouldn't mind changing the speakers now.
My issues is this, I think the layout of 6.5's in the rear (I know it's 5.25, but I've read on here it's not to hard to bump them up) and 6x9's up front will give me to much base up front. I'd rather have the speakers flipped around to get the bass in the back of the quad cab. Anyone done this, or am I worrying to much? I'm not into rap music or want the killer base effect, just prefer it to be layed out like a normal vehicle.

Depends on what channel you put them on.. should have low tone, mid tone, and high tone channels. Put the fronts on high and the back on lows =b.. even tho i doubt 6x9's would have a problem with to much base. Just my 2 coins. Also double check the low mid hight tone thing out.. cause i actually JUST heard about that from my older brother just a week ago. so dunno what the deal with it is.
sorry if i gave some wrong info just tryin to help

If you get a decent set of 6x9's and 6.5's you shouldn't have any problems with too much bass. You just have to set it all right. Make your your mids and highs are set higher than your lows.
I'll be honest though, a set of 6x9's will give you more bass, but combining them with decent 6.5's you'll be fine. Worse comes to worse, put 4 6.5's in your truck. You can get adapter plates that will allow a 6x9 hole be used for a 6.5".
I really don't think you will have too much bass. I really don't. Just shop wisly. Listen to the speakers before you buy. Try to find ones that balance lows with the mids/highs the best, or whichever ones sound the best to you. And trust me, just cause Alpine makes great stuff, doesn't mean they are the best, and on teh flip side, just because dual is ****, doesn't mean you won't like their sound. Best advice I can give is listen before you buy.

Thanks for the tips, I'll have to go speaker shopping and see. Head unit is the Alpine ida-x001 and the amp is an alpine f250. I know I can't expect much since the head unit is pretty much ipod only, but if I'm not happy with the end product I'll change it out.
I have had Polk DB coaxial 6.5"s up front with a speaker bracket to make them work and it wasn't too much bass. Not enoug if anything without subs. Perfect for me as I have subs anyway. I now have them in the rear and have Polk DB 6.5" Components up front and they are the same way. They have okay bass but not enough for me if I didn't have subs. I'm powering mine with a Alpine 450 amp thats 4 x 70watts rms.
