2 plug wire ?s
I put my new plug wires on today and it was a long painful experience. Didn't go as smoothly this time as it did last time. The first question is they touch the valve covers is this okay? I wanted to make sure the covers won't get hot enough to melt them.
The second is when cutting zip ties with a knife the knife slipped 2 times and poked a small hole in the shielding on the cylinder 8 wire. The second time it created a slit in the shielding on the coil wire. I put wire loom around this to cover up the hole and slit in the shielding. Is it okay or do I need to replace these wires? I really hope it's okay as I don't want to spend another $80 on wires.

RE: 2 plug wire ?s
It really depends on the integrity of the wire inside. If you just damaged the casing, you can just wrap it good with some good electrical tape and be fine(I have done this...I damaged the casing putting the wire into the loom). But, as long as you didn't actually jeopardize the integrity of the conductor wire itself, you'll be okay. Just check em out real good and make sure...and see how it runs, check for any arcing, etc.
