I don't know if this is possible or not, but I swear I think my truck is inching backwards while in park over night. My driveway has a slight downhilllean to it, but not too steep. I always pull up about a foot from the side of the garage, and the past couple of mornings when I've went out, it's been like 4 feet from the house. What the heck is going on here??? Can a truck do that while in park??? I don't want to use the e brake b/c it's cold and it might get stuck...

 

How much of an incline are we talking? The Parking Pawl is only designed to handle a grade of approximately 15%. Anything more, and it can break. You should ALWAYS used the PARKING BRAKE (it is NOT an e-brake ) whenever parking on an incline.

The incline isn't very much at all...maybe a rise of about 1 foot or so from beginning to end. I have had the truck since last August and parked it in the same place, but I have never noticed this until the past few days. I'm going to pay close attention to where it is parked tonight and leave the PARKING BRAKEoff and check it in the morning to make sure I'm not imagining things. If it is moving, I guess I will start applying the brake over night...hopefully it doesn't get stuck in the cold weather.

P.S. - No I was not intoxicated when I parked it...

 

if you dont want to use the brake just use a single wheel chock sp? behind the front driver and it shouldnt be to much of an incoveniance to move it in the morning.

Measure from the garage to the truck when you park it, and remeasure in the morning.

I thinks it an illusion, because if its gonna move, its gonna roll onto the street or into your neighbors yard
