nolazach - yeah, I learned my lesson to with the 4x4s. I play in the mud with my Honda Rancher 420 4x4 with Super Swamper Vampire tires and SS112 wheels. Its pretty sweet.

gene563 - I used 2" DJM springs up front and 2" shackles and 2" hangers for a 4" total drop out back. The frontreally dropped 3" so I'm gonna drop the rear another inch with a 3" hanger.

Silver_Power - I just have 20% on the sides and limo on the back. No problems so far.I can't afford those fines either. My friend got a ticket for having a front strip ONLY and it cost him $200+ for that ticket. No thanks.

ericB45 - I didn't have to do anything to get the 3rd gens to fit. Just bolt on and go. The 2000 and 2001 2wd don't have the same problems with the grease cap or whatever. The I had them on my 98 4x4 with no problem either.

kowboydmac - Thanks man. I have seen lowered ext cabs in other forums.

I would love to drop mine. How much (if you don't mind me asking) did you pay in total to drop yours? I don't really know a whole lot about lowering trucks, but I love the stance of yours! Those 3rd gen wheels are sick as hell BTW!

well I already have a lifted 4x4 in the Jeep. my Dodge is 2WD and frankly I never really saw the point in lifting a 2wd truck. I have been thinking about lowering it but i also want to use my truck for towing my Jeep and hauling my quad out to the desert so I dont want it too low when I have to pull off in the sand to get to the camp site so I was thinking I would Air bag my ram so I could adjust the height depending on my needs at the time. Only problem is I have yet to find a four corner air bag suspension kit for it. I've seen the front kits but nothing for the rear, I know its because the rear would involve ditching the leaves and going 4 link. Now im kinda thinking I might just bag the front and get some helper bags for the rear. I do like the front slanted look and it would help the aerodynamics and the gas mileage on the freeway without changing my load handling capabilities.

I got my kit from a guy locally off of craigslist. I paid $200 for it. You can get a Western Chassis 2/4 for $259 and a 3/5 for $269 I think check it out at www.sporttruckdirect.com I can't get the link to work right so just copy and paste it.

For what I have seen to bag our trucks its pretty much a full "custom" deal. I have never seen a "kit" for ours. Good luck if you go that route. I will probably get some helper bags for the rear of mine later on because I tow my 600 lb + atv.
