Bad couple days. My work truck died and will be at fleet maintenance for god knows how long. Now I hop in my personaltruck, turn the key, and it will not start. I turn the key and I hear it fire up, but it immediately stalls out. If I hold my foot on the gas it will stay running, but the second I take my foot off it dies. Any ideas? The worst part of this is I am about 1.5 hours away from all my tools.

Sounds like it could be a fuel system problem. Is it popping out any codes?

You can pop the codes out manually, ya know.

Can you hear the fuel pump cycle when you turn the key from off position to on position (but before start position)?

i don't know about getting codes manually. i am thinking you guys are right about the problem being the fuel system. i just went out there and it started right up. shut it down after about 20-30 seconds and it would not start again. tried again, gave it some gas and it started but the rpm's were fluctuating from 700 to 300 and back then leveled out....

today was the first time i have had a chance to go back out and play with the ram since my last post. i turned the key and it started right up. i let it warm up and drove it around the neighborhood for about 15 minutes.then, an hour later, decided to take it to get some lunch. turned the key and it was back to the same old problem...starting up but the second i take my foot off of the gas it dies. i could hear the fuel pump when i turn the key. any ideas?

Clogged fuel filter perhaps. Do a search of the previous threads on the forum here, this problem sounds familiar to me.
