I'm not 100% if that is the M1, they look very similar. I don't have my M1 part numbers in front of me.

The intake you're looking at says it operating range is 2000-6000 RPM. I'm afraid you'll loose power off-idle with the one you're looking at. Here's another option. It isn't cheap, but it might be more user friendly for daily driving.

That's the M1 intake. Do a search for M1, and you'll see why it is not often done. Word is, you'll lose a bunch of low end torque if your truck is stock or near stock. There are ways around this though. It is definetly the way to go once you are setup right. Check out KRC, Hughes, Southeast R/T, etc, and look at the high performance 360's and 408's they build. All are running the M1 intake or similar. I'm sure i'll have one some day, but i'm in modded kegger land for now.
That's what I've heard, but I think it would be a decent trade off for someone like me who will never be using this truck for heavy towing. I am eventually getting a diesel for that. I would like to dyno before and after just to see first-hand how much tq is lost...would probably be useful to the forum...[8D]
I believe many new guys are decieved into doing a mod because someone said it improved performance according to their butt dyno. I also believe some guys justify the money they spent for their mod using butt dyno justification.
Sooooooo, it would be wonderful to see an actual before and after dyno run.[sm=happybounce.gif]

Thanks for all of the feedback... The one I linked to doesn't appear to be the M1, although the design is somewhat similar. It's actually closer lookingto Edelbrock Performer Air Gap series...which my friend and I are getting ready to throw on his '73 K-10 tomorrow (along with a new 500 cfm Edelbrock American Thunder Series carb...I'm excited). That 305 should be screamin'![&:]

Here's a link to the M1 that Summit listed for my truck:

EDIT: One more thing... The M1 that I found would require a switch from MPI to Carb set-up. When people have talked about losing low end, was it after going to the carb set-up, or is there and M1 for MPI? Just wondering...
