Try the Lucas...can't hurt. I've heard nothing but good about it...from older guys who know more than most of the kids on here.

EDIT: If you are young, don't get mad at that statement...not saying all teenies are dumb...just most JK...

19 here... and I have used lucas on my older brothers 86 Chevy Tranny.. but Lucas is Think.. Ment to help keep things from overheating from what I understand.. So Since my tranny is already having trouble.. didnt know if the Lucas, being so think, would make it work harder.. which in turn would be the cause of its eminent failure. Or if the think lucas would help SLOW the tear down.. Plus my tranny fluid is already at a normal level.. Would know how to drain some of the fluid.

51 here... Try pouring a quart of motor oil in your tranny. Also in my 66 F100 I used to pour a qt of trans oil in the motor. The detergent in the tranny oil kept everything clean.

Do not flush and change the filter. If your already having problems that will put the nail in the coffin. Right now your tranny is basically be held together by the dirt and other grap in there. Try mannually shiffting 1 to 2 to D. That is working for me so far. The reson is beleive it or not but you use differnt clutches when you shift it like that. If its your overrunning clutch then that will clear it right up.

Lol.. Sad thing is.. you cant drop it down to first until 15 miles away.. .. as in I drop it down to first.. dont know what gear its in.. sometimes still shifts as if normal(with it still in first).. and then it will just drop down.. usually hitting pretty hard top out RPM's.. which is obviously not good [:'(]

I think you misunderstood. I wouldn't drop it down to 1st until full stop then when you take off wait until it gets to 2500 rpm and shift to second. Wait until 2500 rpm and shift it to D. This is taking a load off of my tranny and I'm hoping it last long enough for me to save up for a fastman or APS.
