a note on your "leaking transmission"
have you driven it at all since you noticed it?

I have seen a couple of transmissions where the guy is like "yeah, dat damn sumbitch leaked all the fluid out on ma"
Come to find out... it BOILED OUT... the vent tube was all melted and fluid was all over the place...

so if u suddenly noticed a lot of fluid while going down the road spewing out everywhere more than likely almost everything in there was cooked and the fluid boiled out...

My gut feeling is that the trip caused that transmission to overheat, and I wouldn't be suprised if many of the components bubbled up and burnt out now. On the way up it was fine though. Now the only weird thing I can recall is when I finally pulled into my grandparents driveway after the trip, is when I put in park. I put it in park and it made this weird noise. Then the truck revved up to about 1200rpms. My brother told me to stop revving it because it was night time, but I was like, "I'm not, I put it in park". So it made that weird noise when I put it in park, and then stayed revving even after I put it in park. Then, the next morning, instantly once I pulled out of the driveway, the wining of the transmission began. Obviously people are having a field day about the way I drive my truck, but guys, I know what my tranny is. It's always handled the occasional peelouts. It's always been fine, if it wasn't handeling them fine, I would stop. Peelouts would not explain why the truck always has been fine, and then I take it on a trip, and it suddenly comes up with a leak, that's where our problem should be focused on. Perhaps the tranny has been fine since July because I never take it on long distance trips. The biggest trips it takes is to my work, which is 25 miles away, and I rarely take it there. Then I finally take the truck out on the highway really for the first big trip since I've had it, and it cooked itself. Tomorrow morning I'm going out early to look at the transmission pan to see where the leak is coming from. I want to fill it up before I bring it to the shop like you guys said. Then I'll find out what's going on with it.

Parts usuially dont break instantaniously like say a nitrous backfire would cause. Parts wear and degrade over time untill one last event breaks its back . So YES it does stem from you beating it up. No ifs ands or buts about it. Sorry your in denial about it but thats how the cookie crumbles.

I don't deny that I've contributed to the problem, I realize it has a lot to do with it's final demise. I haven't made it any better. This transmission has been weak since I've boughten it though. So it's failure it's not solely because of ME, I know this because ,well... I drive this truck everyday. Prior to the trip, it was still going strong and was going about like its usual self. Then it finally got put to a real test of a true long drive, and it just couldn't handle it. I'm sure lugging those 35" nobby tires does not help the transmission either. Either way, I'll know by tomorrow whats going on, and then ultimately I'll make my decision with what I want to do with this truck in regards to keeping the lift or bringing it back down to size. If I do keep the lift, this would mean I'm no longer speeding in the truck because obviously it's just not the nature of the truck and burning out with it really puts too much stress on a transmission with big tires. It's a learned lesson overall no doubt about it. I'm listenting to what you guys are saying, this isn't exactly the easiest time for me though, so forgive me if I'm a tad bit defensive, I cannot help it.
