Default New exhaust-Melted Brake line

LMFAO So i go to put my new magnaflow dual exhaust on and love it!!!!!!!! I had to get to work quick so as soon as i got it on i bolted for work. Not nowing the brake line was right next to the driver side. So im coming home and brakes act fine but make som weird noise? I havnt check it out yet but im pretty sure i melted the brake line and its leaking. Its darkout and i couldnt see anything. Is there some sort of thermal protector i can put on the brake lines to protect from the heat?

there should'nt be brake hoses getting melted, if they are too close something is screwed up

x2 If you want added protection, wrap them with exhaust/header tape...

you could do either or both...but like TheForce55555 said, if your lines are where they should be, you shouldn't have any problems. although, since it is an aftermarket exhaust system, it could be possible. it would be cheap and simple to wrap it just for reassurance.

Yea ill post in the morning what i find. I love the system though! Sounds awsome and it gave me a bunch of mid power. I think i lost a bit on the bottom under 2000 rpm. I had a quiteflow 3 on there before. Would a cold air give me more performance? Or just sound cool?

Honestly, after discussing the intake bit just yesterday with IndyRamMan, I would opt for the open element round filter set-up. You can do it for around $30, and it will give you as good a result as the short ram intakes out there. It would give you probably a better throttle response with the exhaust and definitely a nice, throaty sound. I have a Magnaflow on my truck, but I kept the factory pipe...still sounds nice with my intake...

I tried that exact one at one point, and I did not trust its design once I got it home and checked it out... Something more like this is what most people use:

You can find a cheaper one than that though... Do a search in the forum for "FIPK No More" there is a ton of info on this set-up in that thread.

I think Indy is using that triangle breather. Except his was Edelbrock. But the 14x3 seems like it wound be better unless you piped cold air into it.
