lowering?
Depends on how low you want to go, and what quality of product you want. The cheapest way to do it is with drop springs for the front and drop spring shackles for the rear. This way does not take front end geometry into account and may result in uneven tire and suspension wear. You will usually get 2 to 3 inches of drop, depending on what kit you use. If you want to go low and also want to get proper steering geometry, more expensive parts are used. These include drop sindles (2 inch drop), and upper and lower control arms. Different kits come with different combinations of these parts. To go really low with the rear, a flip kit is needed. This puts the axle above the leaf springs, giving you a drop as big as your axle. Shims may be needed afterwards to fix driveline angle, since it will have changed. Oh and you can also skip all of this and just get airbags. These are fully adjustable and will run you a few grand. To learn more pick up a copy of truckin magazine, or just search for parts on google. Have fun.
It all depends on how much you want to lower it and how much that you want to spend. If you have plus size rims you might not be able to lower the front too much. I have 22's and they said I can only get 1-2" in the front without rubbing with a standard lowering kit I would need to bag it to get it any lower. I believe 2-4" lowering kits are 200-1000 on summit.
mine is dropped with DJM springs up front and shackles and hangers in the rear. its about a 3/4 drop(its the truck in my sig). Im going to go another inch in the rear to level it off a little. Since you have a 2000 Ram you can NOT use spindles. They don't make them for 2000-2001. Spindles only work for 1994-1999. For a 2000 you can use springs and upper and lower control arms for the front and shackles and hangers or a flip kit for the rear. It all just depends on how far down you want to go.
