I got it out, but i couldn't use the hex wrench cause there was hardened dirt in there. So i used the bendable ratchet extension and it worked great. There was some clearance issues with the socket fitting over the nut with the head in the way, but i just kept pressing down on the top of the ratchet and kinda "hammered" it in place.

Hope this helps anyone that needs to do it. I had to sit in the engine compartment with the shock tower up my a$$.
