Default exauhst question

[hr]
does anybody know if i can relocate my o2 sensor to a welded bung on a long tube header, i realize this would be only on one bank but i want to do some major exauhst mods for off road so no cats and side pipes.

dont even think about it unless you like to look at your check engine light. you need a cat to change your oxygen content in exhaust no cat no change

Your best bet would probably buy an O2 sim and just use that.

The Fastman makes 'em.

I'm pretty sure He's talking about the Upstream O2.
It should work installing it in one header but like you said you only read one bank of the engine and the PCM will make adjustments based on just that one side. If your engine is solid and in good tune it probably won't make much difference.
A better idea would be to put the O2 sensor in a cross over pipe but that all depends on what your future exhaust plans are.
