Default 1997 ram steering column problems

Ijust bought a 97 ram 5.2 auto,the steering column clunks when I hit the gas and again whenIbrake.Another thing is when I put it in park and take out the key the steering wheel does'nt lock.please help.

shaft probably needs to be lubed were it slides

Check all mounting bolts at the steering box/frame and too the couplings and joints along the shaft (inside the cab at the floor and dash too). Does the column move in and out by pulling/pushing the steering wheel?
How are your motor mounts? Although if they were that bad, you'd see other problems! I'm just saying!
