electric fan easy 5hp , roller rocker either 1.6 or 1.7 another easy 5-10 hp , injectors maybe a couple hp , MSD ingition with a good coil , wires maybe another 5 .. i would really bump up the injectors cause with headers they do run a little lean..

I mean if you can do it yourself, or if you can get it done for cheap,
Yeah if I do it I'll be doing it myself. I snagged a piece of 3" diam. pipe @ the 16" length I needed for about $10, so thats all its gonna end up costing me.

Good to know, I missed that somewhere along the way. I've put a thousand dollar budget on myself for the truck in May. I'm actually leaning very heavy tword an MSD 6a with a blaster coil and an SCT tuner.

Oh yeah, if you're getting that done for $10, then I would defiantly do it man. What could you possibly have to loose (and no not torque![8D]). Your truck is going to sound badass man.

any time you gut a cat instead of replacing itwith a pipe you cause unnecessary turbulence. but i don't deal with emissions tests in my state.

If you must do something with the cat then i would do as cereal said and pound a pipe threw it and not gut it. If you don't need the appearence of the cat on there at all just replace it with a piece of straight pipe for awhile and see if it actually does anything for you. Then if you don't really care you can either put the cat back on or just leave it that way. I wouldn't destroy a perfectly good hi flow cat.

... and thats no BS. I limited myself to a grand because I need to put some tune-up money into my bike, now that damn thing I won't really work on.

I titled this thread in a misleading way. I won't actually be knocking out the insides of my cat, if I do it I'll be replacing it with a 16" length of pipe. Just like you said; I can always put the cat back on. Appologies for the misunderstanding.
