Wow, that's pretty scary, that sounds EXACTLY like my truck, but without open headers. MY truck does that same scary tractor sound, love it. But sick sounding bro!!

I just realized that I posted the same video twice. Sorry about that I was a little tired but couldn't sleep. So heres the vid of my truck with the muffler re-installed without a cat.

Funny thing, I actually get less low rpm droning with the cat off but Its obnoxious when you open it up.
That open headers video didn't exceed 3500 rpms, man that was loud.

Better watch how you drive now. The cops will know you're coming a mile before you're there

RM Indy blew his out. I ran a gutted Magnaflow and didn't notice much of a difference. IMO it wasn't worth the time. The cat on there now is about 8" long and about 4.5" in diameter. It has a ~1" hole down the center and the comb has large holes. I doubt it offers much flow resistance at all. Depending on the smog laws in your area, you may want to look into that. I don't know about the Mallory, but it is said that the MSD boxhelpswith a smog test. I missed it in the post before, but I would definately get the SCT flasher, and get it from someone who can work with you to get your tune right. You will need a scanner and an a/f ratio meter-preferrably wideband- to accomplish this.

Our trucks, especially I know this now....aren't meant for speeding
This is true if you f the suspension up with lift and mud tires. I saw a BIG Cummins 4x4 whip a Viper. He ran a 10. I bet that thing weighed 7k lbs.

Put the head in a fork of a small tree, start at the neck and work down. Make sure the anus doesn't touch the meat if you plan to eat it...which you may if gas prices get too much higher.

Treat yourself to a gut blade or a zipper!

lol I've been driving around today and have almost come to the conclusion that a cat delete in combination to what I already have installed just isn't for me. When I had the cat installed I had a more deep 'this trucks got something' kind of sound. Now with the cat gone its more like 'holy ****, did you see that stupid redneck driveby?'. lol (and fellow rednecks don't be offended; i hunt, fish, camp, shoot guns, and drink lots of beer )

I have concluded, if anyone is interested, that a stock truck with bolt ons does not have any noticable gain in power when migrating from a hi-flow cat to a straight pipe. I know some of you guys told me this, but for $10 I just had to know the difference. If your looking to make alot of noise (which is definately cool if your into that) than a cat delete can get the job done.

Hopefully next week I can get some lift time again, in a heated room, and I can pull the whole system out again. I need to make a couple of fitment adapters, flare4 slip fit joints for tighter tolerance, and reinstall my hi-flow cat. Hopefully none of you feel like you wasted your time advising me on this. If your reading this and thinking about gutting the cat just do yourself a favor and buy a pipe to replace the cat with. Trust me, its just too cheap not to.

mopower: I took a look at the mallory and the numbers look good on a comparibly priced msd, I'm going to keep researchingsince I have time before I'll havemoney for it. The SCT is just huge on my list, I'm practically salivating at the thought of picking one up thisspring.
