I didn't notice any light colored oil last change, and that was only 1500 miles ago. Man I hope its nothing too serious.

DId you get an aftermarket radiator or a stock replacement? Have you checked the pressure cap on the radiator?

What about the catalytic converter, did you check that?

I would get shop to diagnose it, and evaluate it by setting a price limit you can spend.

When you pass the spend limit, trade it in.

Be realistic in what you got, verses what you can get. I opted to keep the truck after i found out i needed to rebuild the transmission.
Now, I really wish I was in a different situation and traded it in. I am hoping that once the cat is replaced I am trouble free for 3yrs. Then I trade it in for something brand new OR drive it until it dies.

It's just a stock replacement rad, new cap, and I checked the catylitic, only thing rattling under there are the hangers. Thank goodness! If the head was cracked like 98dodgeram1500 said, would a compression test show that? I guess I should run one anyways just for the hell of it since it's free! What should the compression be on the cylinders?

there's debate on exactly what is good pressure, but I'd say anywhere around 160psi is acceptable.

I'm kinda kicking myself in the butt right now, I just got the truck a year ago. Traded in a brand new F150 for it. But now I've got four wheel drive!

I see snow in your image, guessing thats why you went to the 4WD.

Enjoy the 4WD...

Best of luck with the truck. [:@]

Among other things. There was no snow where I used to live, just a lot of sand dunes, Glamis!
