Default truck won;t start, thinking fuel delivery

Since i had 24# injectors prior to the fire, i bought them to replace the old ones. However, the previous owner spliced different connectors than stock for the ford injectors. The stock ones from the replacement wiring harness fit, but they fit loosely. I think i will have to order the EV1 pigtails. The way i am gonna test is take my breather off, pour 2 ounces of fuel into the intake, and try to tart the truck. All i am getting now is tjust the truck turning over (all starter) so if there is sputtering and some combustion before the truck dies, then i know the injectors aren;t firing.

Also, I may have shorted my PCM. COuld that be a reason my injectors aren;t firing? I figure that if there is no combustion at all when pouring cuel in, then my ignition is not working, which is controlled by the PCM.

So let me know if my methids will tell me why my truck won;t start. i think i got all the bases covered with the test of adding fuel manually. It will let me know if my injectors and ignition system are or aren;t working.

Let me know if i am messed up or if you want to give me any other ideas.

Thanks,
Dan

You may want to try usingstarting fluid instead. It comes in a spray can. Probably be more effective than just pouring gas down the throttle body. I would guess ignition or fuel pump. It is highly unlikely that all the slices justwent bad at once.

yeah, maybe starter fluid would be better. I hear the fuel pump because I had to prime the system since i had to replace the fuel rail which was leaking (cause of fire).

I figure if there is some combustion with gas being poured manually, then my ignition is good, but the fuel delivery is bad. THen it is narrowing it down to one thing. Most likely the injectors because i can hear the fuel pump priming before i turn the key to start.

Thanks

If you have no spark and the injectors are not firing, look in the PDC for the ASD relay. The automatic shut down relay controls the fuel and spark....

Ah yes. It must have done that during the fire (automatic shutdown). I was checking my fuse box earlier because i got another box when i ordered another harness. I will just replace the fuses and see if that helps.

Thanks!!!

Parts/service

WHich one is the ASD? Or should i just replace all the fuses. I guess i can try replacing all, but i am replacing them with junkyard fuses from a junkyard fusebox.

just so you know.. sometimes it takes some time to prime the system after killing the fuel pressure. .. it took me a good half hour to get the van started after i replaced everything in its fuel system.. and i had to prime.. prime.. and prime again to get it to finally go..
