The sound of an exhaust leak is UGLY.. I think even a rookie would be able to hear it.. loud.. and sounds like ****.. 40's are nice.. 30's are evil(oinkers wont like it either).. Havnt personlly had the chance to lisen to the super 40's or 44's... but the word it that the 44's will eat a small mustang.

yeah i have an exhaust leak, im getting it fixed tommorow. Its one spot on the pipe. Ive noticed that when i had the delta 40 on it took awhile for it to sound like my new original 40 series. But usually it takes like 50-100 miles to get the full sound from the muffler anyways, so i can imagine how the original 40 series will sound with a few miles on the muffler. it sounds pretty darn good now though, wish the idle was a little louder but thats ok.

Burns the seals in.. and burns the oil, coating on outside/muffler. Hence the reason your truck smells kinda funny the first k you drive it. Doesnt break in.. more like burn in.. and the sound change is very minimal if at all.

Yeah when I had my Flowmaster 40 series put on I didn't really notice it getting any louder after a few days. I didn't pay super close attention but if it did at all it wasn't enough to make me notice it.
