Since I'll be doing my plenum... lifters and pushrods???
Hi all,
I started this at the end of another post so I thought maybe I'd post it here to see if anyones got some more info for me...
I'm new to the forum.. and have been learning tons about my first Mopar. What led me here was my badly running truck with a slightly rough idle... come to find out how to check my plenum and its gone. So... I've read up on it and have a new Hughes on the way, figured a good time to do the Tstat and plugs, wires, and HS 1.7's etc...
The question I have... I was wondering... I'm going to be doing the HS 1.7 non adjustable direct replacement RR's as well... since the intake will be off...would direct replacement lifters and rods ( havent found a good quality brand yet.. any suggestions?? ) be a simple pull and install job? with the non adjustable RR's, I was thinking I could pull the old ones, install the new ones, and torque the RR's to spec... Or.. maybe I'd have to crank to TDC for every cylinder to install? And...all lifters need to be "filled" prior to install I think.. ( submerg in oil and pump the rod seat to fill it?) Was wondering if anyone can give me an idea of whats in store for me. Its been said that since I'm not doing a performance cam, and not buiding a racer or anything... that maybe leave well enough alone, and just install the 1.7's.I'd appreciate any feed back.. the Hughes got here today, the RR's are shipped, just hoping the cold weather gives me a break here...[8D]

Bump. I was thinking about doing the lifters as well since my truck has almost 110,000 miles on it. Might as well since the intake will be off anyway.
