wheel bearing question
ok guys, I hate to post this, but I need your help. If I remember correctly I think I seen something on here about serviceable wheel bearings and serviceable ball joints, am I remember correctly? or am I just imagining things
I believe the 1500's are non serviceable (expensive sealed hub assembly). 2500 and 3500 have serviceable roller bearings. Never heard of a serviceable hub for the 1500's but if you find one, let me know.
Just recently had to change mine, Auto Parts Giant had the best price for 2WD, $115.83 for the hub assembly. For the same price, Autozone sold just the bearing which has to be pressed in. Good luck!
I read in the Haynes manual you can repack on 99 down 2wd models. 2000 up it's a sealed unit. I have a 2000 1500 2wd and I need to change out my drivers side front bearing. You can really feel it on right turns with all the weight shifted to the left side. Are these a pain to change out? I've never done a hub change.

Figures rust would be a problem and considering my truck hasbeen through a flood I'm sure it's got it's fair share of rust. I've looked it over in a few manuals and they all make the process seem straight forward. What about the nut? I read those aren't reusable either. Is it common for those to come with a hub or is that just another part to buy?
