Default p code 1281?

hey guys its been a while... any way my truck set off a new engine code that wasnt in the manual... P1281. I ran a search and i came up with engine is cold too long is this correct? i started the truck in 4 wheel drive and it was cold and its been a while since its been started. it was hard to start but when it started it didnt really idel right so i revved it a little and it seemed to help, then i revved a lot and at about 4500 rpm it seemed like it "chooked" and i stoped revving, and did it again after it warmed up some more, but the same outcome once the engine warmed up. Is this just a cold engine effect? the heat was nice and warm when i did it the last time and it still had the same effect, thanks guys

My DTC look up says "Manufacturer Contrl Air Metering", and honestly I do not know what that means.

Yep...it's reading that the engine temp isn't really warming up. Not that it has been sitting in the cold for too long, but that after start-up, the engine isn't reaching operating temp quite fast enough. I noticed you have a 180* t-stat. Could be the cause. Some get codes with it, some don't.

I'd pull the stat and make sure it's not stuck open either, but I'm not sure if that would actually throw a code for you. That's where I'd start anyway.

i got that in my 01 when the t-stat went bad, opening up too soon. took forever to warm up, also had little heat.

I had the exact same problem, my truck threw the P1281 code and I didnt have a clue what it meant until I posted it on here...
I put in a new 180* t-stat and i havent had a problem since then...
