Help.....
i have a 1997 ram, 4X4, 5.2L, Mannual Trans. The problem is something I am missing.
When I start the truck up it runs fine until it warms up. It will then idle all over the place, will stall if I put the cultch in, and will miss and backfire on the road if i try to give it any gas.
I'll changed O2s, TBS, Map, plugs, cap, rotor. I am at wits end.

 

Could be noise on the crank sensor or the cam sensor. It sounds like a problem that occurs when you transition from open loop to closed loop. See if you can find somewhere/someone with a scanner. That will probably tell you what is wrong.

I am not talking about a code reader. I am talking about a scanner. A scanner will show all your engines vitals as well as readings from most of the sensors. If you scroll through and see one of the parameters reading erratically or not reading what it should, then you know that's your problem. Alot of the major auto parts stores have them now, or they
