Default aftermarket fog lights

i want to hook my fog lights i just bought to the head light switch like it says.. but the haynes book i have the wire colors don't match. the instructions that came with the lights says to connect to the low beam so it'll be on with the low beams only... does anyone know what the color of the wireis by the switch. or possibly the oem fog lights so they turn on with them. i have a 98 dodge ram

Hook it into a separate switch, so you can turn them on with your high beams...or by themselves if it's really foggy.

I don't know about 98's but 95's they used whatever colored wire they could. Try popping out the fog light swithch and tracing the wire that way.

They changed a lot from 95 to 98 so I don't know for yours. But, when I put mine in, I now wish I would have tapped into the parking light wire. If you have a set with relay and all, then you're just using that power to switch on the relay which then draws power from a wire from the battery. If you're wanting to power them off of the same wire as the low beams, I'd think twice. You'll lose a lot of brightness trying to power them both through the one low beam wire.
